⚠️ What to Avoid

While some fading is natural, avoid these things to keep your color vibrant longer:

Excessive water exposure and sunlight - UV rays and prolonged water contact fade color faster
Frequent shampooing - Especially avoid deep cleansing or anti-dandruff shampoos which strip color
Alcohol-based products - Hairspray, gel, mousse, and other styling products containing alcohol
Saltwater and chlorine - Beach and pool water are major color faders
Hot water - Use cool or lukewarm water when washing to seal the color

Wear old clothes and use old towels - Choose items you don't mind staining during the coloring process
Protect your skin - Apply petroleum jelly or barrier cream around your hairline, ears, and neck. Important: Keep it off your hair as it will prevent color absorption!
Cover your workspace - Use old towels, newspapers, or plastic bags to protect floors and surfaces
Wear gloves - Protect your hands with plastic or nitrile gloves throughout the process
Choose your sink wisely - Rinse in a stainless steel sink if possible, as some vibrant colors may temporarily stain white porcelain sinks and bathtubs

Use color-safe shampoo - Sulfate-free formulas are gentler on colored hair
Wash less frequently - Try dry shampoo between washes to extend color life
Deep condition regularly - Keep your hair healthy and color vibrant
Protect from heat - Use heat protectant spray and lower temperatures on styling tools
